About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in the Emergency Department License: Georgia or Compact license required at the time of submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC Must-Have: - Ability to care for ventilated patients - Experience with continuous IV sedation - Skill in interpreting dysrhythmias - Proficient in managing dysrhythmias - Ability to administer and monitor procedural sedation - Experience in triage Description: Minimum experience required is 2 years. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Must work every other weekend. No on-call responsibilities. Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be necessary. Clinical fit will be determined by review. Travelers are expected to work major holidays as follows: If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both holidays. If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Full compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant by the deadline, the start date may be pushed back by two weeks. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers. The unit sees a daily census of 250 patients. There are 59 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy, radiology, and pharmacy. Patient age groups served include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Special procedures involve managing level 3 trauma cases, primary stroke care, CHF, STEMI, and chest pain center protocols. The traveler must be prepared to handle standard emergency department responsibilities, including patient assessment and critical care.
