Electrician (Resource Employee), LA Memorial Coliseum

USC Auxiliary Services seeks a Resource Employee (Electrician) to support the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum’s day‑to‑day electrical operations. The position is hourly, non‑exempt, and capped at 1,000 hours in any rolling 12‑month period. Responsibilities Support full‑time electrical staff during events. Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment, including motors, switches, lights, heaters, alarms, and control systems. Evaluate and document the need to repair or replace equipment. Test wiring systems to ensure safety of all components. Plan, coordinate, and schedule new or modified electrical work. Estimate materials required for specific job components. Maintain a clean job site during and after work. Store and maintain supplies, tools, and equipment. Adhere to general electrical safety practices to maintain safe working conditions for self and others. Prepare reports and maintenance records as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications High School Diploma or completion/enrollment of a four‑year apprenticeship program. Minimum of 6 months of experience performing standard trade‑related procedures. General knowledge of trade‑related methods, materials, tools, and equipment. General knowledge of electrical codes and familiarity with city and state building codes, OSHA rules, and standard safety practices. Valid California driver’s license; participation in the Department of Motor Vehicles Pull Notice System. Preferred Qualifications Trade certification, apprenticeship, or bachelor’s degree in electrical, engineering, or related field. At least 2 years of industry experience. Familiarity with high‑voltage power, conversion, and electrical safety procedures in large venue or public assembly building operations. Experience designing basic facility power drawings, schematics, or blueprints. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) is a plus. Benefits & Conditions Hourly rate of $22.00.
