Our Bilingual Pharmacy Technician role is your opportunity to grow while contributing to our vision of healthier lives for all.Role Highlights: As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll be at the core of our pharmacy, ensuring the smooth preparation, filling, and distribution of medications.Impact and Growth: Your efforts will directly enhance patient care and safety, with opportunities for personal and professional development.Work Environment: Thrive in a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere where collaboration is key.Mission-Driven: Join a compassionate healthcare team committed to community service and equity.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist pharmacists by entering patient information to ensure appropriate medication dosing.Dispense medications accurately and safely to patients.Maintain medication stock and supplies, adhering to safety protocols.Adjust workload priorities to maximize efficiency.Handle insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations promptly.Complete daily and monthly checklists, including expired drug checks and orders.Provide patient counseling and document refusals.Communicate with physicians' offices and insurance companies as necessary.Conduct weekly controlled substance counts and document findings.Help train new pharmacy staff.Deliver exceptional customer service and engage respectfully with customers and colleagues.Participate in shift change communication hand-offs.Always maintain patient confidentiality.Report unresolved issues to the Pharmacist, Manager.Inform peers about drug shortages, availability, and pricing.Track non-stock requests and offer recommendations.Engage in interim and annual physical inventories.Support the 340b program's inventory integrity.Maintain prescription files per policy and procedure.Manage cash collection and daily money procedures.Reconcile prescription fills with billing records.Perform additional duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsMust have high school diploma or equivalent.Must have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.Must be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities.Must maintain BLS /CPR.Must maintain required certifications.Must have two (2) years healthcare experience.1+ years pharmacy logistics preferred.Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.Demonstrate project management skills and understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management and managing a cash register.Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.Computer experience Windows, Excel, and Accounting software.Bilingual preferred.About Legacy Community HealthAs the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Southeast Texas, Legacy Community Health has been delivering comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care for nearly 40 years.
