Manufacturing TechnicianThis role is responsible for manufacturing composite parts and structures using filament winding equipment and related machinery. You will work with glass, carbon, and other fibers, following detailed process specifications to produce high-quality components that meet project requirements. The position involves hands-on operation of production equipment, assembly of parts, and accurate data entry to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesDevelop a hands-on working knowledge of filament winding machines, resin mixing equipment, hoists, extractors, curing ovens, and other ancillary equipment used in the winding process.Produce composite products in accordance with standard procedures, process specifications, and written work instructions.Set up and tear down production machinery, validate the progress of the machine's work, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.Feed raw materials or parts into semi-automated machines and monitor their performance during production.Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials required to complete each production process.Position parts and subassemblies using templates or by reading and interpreting measurements to ensure accuracy.Assemble parts to match product specifications using hand tools and power tools as required.Perform weld inspection activities as directed to ensure components meet quality standards.Accurately use measuring devices such as pi-tape, calipers, and air pressure gauges to verify dimensions and performance.Operate power tools including hand saws, drill guns, and band saws in a safe and efficient manner.Enter production and process data into Excel and other systems with a high level of accuracy.Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping guidelines to maintain a clean and safe production environment.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or GED.2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred, ideally in production or assembly environments.Ability to effectively communicate in written and spoken English.Working knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools.Ability to accurately use measuring devices such as pi-tape, calipers, and air pressure gauges.Ability to operate power tools including hand saws, drill guns, and band saws.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment.Experience in assembly and production work, particularly with composites or textiles.Basic proficiency with data entry, including inputting information into Excel.Manufacturing background with familiarity in composite or textile processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical degree or technical training in a related field is a plus.Experience with Fanuc controls is a plus.Experience working with composite materials, filament winding, or similar processes is beneficial.Comfort working in a production/manufacturing environment with high-speed equipment.Ability to adapt to changing production demands and multiple shifts as the operation grows.Why Work Here?You will join a growth-oriented organization that places a strong emphasis on culture and shared mission, valuing passion and potential as much as experience. You will work around filament winding equipment, resin mixing systems, curing ovens, hoists, and other high-speed machinery, following established safety and quality procedures. The current shift runs Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until approximately the end of September, after which the schedule returns to a normal shift of Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with about 50-hour work weeks and Saturdays as needed. The role involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices, as well as computer-based data entry in Excel, in a setting that supports precision, teamwork, and continuous production.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westminster, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
