Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

Our client, a world-class professional services organization with $4B in revenue, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will take on complex accounting work, lead process improvement efforts, and use AI and technology to modernize how the finance team operates. You will also partner with senior management, delivering financial insights and recommendations that support decision-making across the firm. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform complex accounting tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Support the month-end close process, including reviewing general ledger transactions and completing account reconciliations
• Prepare financial reports and analyze financial data using advanced Excel
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and explain financial results
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis
• Lead process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and accuracy
• Use AI and technology to automate manual accounting tasks
• Contribute to ad hoc projects, including department and firm-wide financial reporting
• Oversee and review the work of Staff Accountants, providing guidance and feedback

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Three to six years of relevant work experience
• Experience in a large professional services environment, including but not limited to legal, financial services, consulting, marketing, or technology
• Strong background in general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and financial analysis
• Advanced Excel skills
• CPA preferred, but not required
