About the Role

The Senior Medical Director provides strategic leadership for ReGenesis Health Care's Primary Care Division while maintaining an active clinical practice.

Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this physician executive serves as a key organizational leader responsible for provider engagement, quality improvement, operational excellence, and clinical outcomes across Family Medicine and Pediatric services.

This position offers an ideal balance of executive leadership and direct patient care.

What You'll Do

• Provide strategic leadership for Family Medicine and Pediatric clinical operations.
• Supervise and mentor Family Medicine and Pediatric physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Support the Addiction Medicine Medical Director and collaborate on program growth.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on HEDIS measures, UDS metrics, patient outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with the Chief Medical Officer on organizational strategy, clinical innovation, provider recruitment, and physician engagement.
• Promote evidence-based medicine and standardized clinical best practices.
• Maintain an active patient panel while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and organizational growth.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, innovation, and exceptional patient care.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Completion of an accredited residency in:
  • Family Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • Pediatrics
• Board Certified (or Board Eligible if applicable)
• Active South Carolina Medical License (or eligibility to obtain)
• Minimum 5 years of physician leadership experience , including Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Department Chair, Clinical Director, or similar executive leadership role
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Passion for improving access to healthcare in underserved communities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
• Experience leading multidisciplinary provider teams
• Knowledge of value-based care, quality metrics, and population health
• Experience with provider coaching, physician engagement, and performance improvement
• Experience in strategic planning and healthcare operations
