Work Environment

Our Skilled Nursing Facility is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment and technologies to facilitate effective patient care. Working closely with a team of licensed Physical Therapists, nurses, and allied health professionals, the PTA will operate in an environment that not only focuses on clinical excellence but also encourages innovation and continuous learning. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans prescribed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring high-quality care that adheres to established best practices.
• Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, aiding in mobility training and functional movement techniques designed to enhance their capabilities.
• Monitor and document patient progress with accuracy, communicating essential findings and improvements to the therapy and nursing staff during team meetings.
• Educate patients and their families about home exercise programs, safety measures, and the importance of ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
• Maintain compliance with documentation standards, including the upkeep of patient records, care plans, and therapy notes, ensuring all protocols are followed meticulously.
• Create and sustain a positive, motivating environment that fosters recovery, encourages participation, and builds morale among residents.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will work primarily with senior residents and individuals needing post-operative rehabilitation in our Skilled Nursing Facility. Many patients may be experiencing temporary or long-term impairments, including orthopedic conditions, stroke recovery, or chronic illnesses. With a compassionate approach, the PTA will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for these individuals, helping them achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• An Associate's Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Active Virginia PTA license (or eligibility for licensure).
• A strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and support, with a heart for senior care.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are vital for fostering relationships with both patients and healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
