Controller job at Robert Half. Germantown, MD. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of a healthcare organization in Memphis, TN. This role involves managing accounting systems, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reports to support strategic decision-making. The Controller will collaborate closely with senior leadership to maintain financial integrity and drive operational efficiency. Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, payroll, purchasing, and accounts payable. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements in adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard financial accuracy and compliance. Work with leadership to create budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, providing insights to guide strategic decisions. Analyze financial performance, physician productivity, and departmental profitability to identify trends and recommend improvements. Supervise and mentor the accounting team, offering training, guidance, and regular performance evaluations. Coordinate and manage external audits, acting as a primary contact for auditors and regulatory agencies. Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements by preparing accurate reports and filings. Research and resolve complex accounting issues to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to protect organizational assets and ensure accurate reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in financial management, preferably within a healthcare or medical practice setting. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements. Proficiency in preparing financial reports, including month‑end and year‑end statements. Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial planning processes. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop accounting teams. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities to evaluate financial performance and recommend strategic improvements. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
