Chief Financial Officer Charles Products (CPI) is a wholesale company that provides custom and stock souvenirs to tourist attractions (zoos, aquariums, museums, theme parks, and more) across the U.S. and internationally. The t-shirts, mugs, magnets, key chains, snow globes, baseballs, notebooks, pens, and pencils you see in the museum shops and gift shops are all items the company designs daily. With over 60 years of experience and over 5000 items, you can count on CPI for your quality custom gift and souvenir needs. Responsibilities Hands on leadership role where coaching the team and getting the work done are of equal importance. Facilitate automation of manual processes. Set expectations and hold team accountable for producing accurate and timely work while providing internal service with a smile. Accurately prepare and review timely financial statements, working as a reporting partner to the CFO, providing financial information to leadership and the board to facilitate data driven decision making. Work in tandem with broader F&A concepts to share success, enhance the function, deliver high quality results, and provide exceptional internal client service. Lead by example, exhibiting the core values and coaching teammates to do the same. Driving toward the expectations of the board, improving outcomes by quarter, and month. Streamline and oversee the month end close process, significantly reducing the time to close. Establish and maintain shared services concepts in a surgical like implementation using integration best practices. Review, modify, and oversee the accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) functions. Support CFO in the Sales Compensation commission adjustments with analytics and timely reporting. Oversee reconciliation and direct adjustments to the health/dental/life policies. Lead audits and other compliance projects. Participate in the interviewing, selecting, and training of new accounting staff. Perform managerial tasks regularly and complete ad hoc projects as assigned or as necessary. Position Requirements Qualifications and Education Requirements 5+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant performing extensive accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation of supporting schedules and financial statements. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting procedures. Advanced Excel experience and large ERP software a must. Our Needs Strong understanding and proven application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 7+ years of corporate accounting experience including financial reporting. 5+ years in an accounting leadership role managing a team of varying skillsets. Bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant field of study. Highly aware of details and priorities while remaining focused on the big picture and strategy. Willingness and agility to pivot as priorities change. Passion for automation and improvement of manual processes. Understanding of various legal entities and how multiple entities operate under different umbrellas. Professional and concise communication skills (written, verbal, and non-verbal). Service focused attitude thriving on accountability, credibility, and trustworthiness. Positive influencer of change, innovation, and problem solving. Federal and state tax knowledge. Professional maturity and managerial courage. Relationship builder and business partner. Solid computer skills including MS Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams. Our Wants Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Exposure to working directly with private equity partners and preparing "board ready" and ad hoc data. Experience with M&A transactions and accounting integrations. Various systems application knowledge including Microsoft 365, Business Central and QuickBooks.
