Overview

We are seeking an experienced DAS RF Engineer to design, deploy, optimize, and maintain Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) that deliver reliable wireless coverage and performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong RF engineering expertise and hands-on experience supporting DAS projects from planning and design through commissioning and ongoing operational support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop DAS solutions tailored to customer requirements while ensuring reliable coverage and efficient use of RF spectrum.

• Perform site surveys to evaluate environments and determine optimal DAS configurations.
\n
• Develop RF propagation models and coverage maps to optimize signal distribution.
\n
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and project specifications.
\n
• Perform RF testing to evaluate system performance, signal strength, and quality.
\n
• Troubleshoot interference issues and optimize antenna placement and RF parameters.
\n
• Conduct drive testing, in-building testing, and walk testing to validate coverage and system performance.
\n
• Utilize RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal analyzers, and power meters.
\n
• Support installation, integration, and commissioning of DAS systems.
\n
• Ensure proper configuration of network elements, controllers, access points, and associated equipment.
\n
• Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and contractors to support successful deployments.
\n
• Provide ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support for DAS networks.
\n
• Perform health checks and preventative maintenance activities.
\n
• Resolve service interruptions, system errors, and coverage-related concerns.
\n
• Maintain accurate design documentation, testing records, and configuration details.
\n
• Create as-built drawings, operation manuals, and technical documentation.
\n
• Generate reports detailing performance results, findings, and recommendations.
\n
• Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and third-party vendors to ensure compatibility and performance standards are achieved.
\n
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.
\n
• Stay current with emerging DAS technologies and RF engineering best practices.
\n
• Participate in technical training and professional development activities.
\n
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
\n
• Minimum 3-5 years of RF engineering experience with a focus on DAS design, deployment, and optimization.
\n
• Strong understanding of RF principles, wireless signal propagation, and network performance analysis.
\n
• Experience with DAS planning tools, RF measurement tools, and network optimization software.
\n
• Knowledge of DAS components including antennas, repeaters, RF cabling, and distribution systems.
\n
• Hands-on experience performing RF testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.
\n
• Experience using DAS design software such as iBwave, Atoll, or similar platforms.
\n
• Ability to interpret RF propagation models, engineering drawings, schematics, and as-built documentation.
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
\n
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification.
\n
• CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator) certification.
\n
• iBwave Certification.
\n
• OEM or manufacturer-specific certifications.
\n
• Experience supporting large-scale wireless infrastructure deployments.
\n

Work Environment / Travel / Schedule

\n
• Remote position with travel requirements.
\n
• Primary work area is the Cincinnati, Ohio market.
\n
• Approximately 70% of work will occur within Ohio and Kentucky.
\n
• Approximately 30% travel outside the market may be required based on project needs.
\n
• Ability to travel for site surveys, system deployments, commissioning activities, and troubleshooting assignments.
\n
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
\n
• Ability to work in a variety of environments, including rooftops, construction sites, and confined spaces.
\n
• Fast-paced project environment with occasional extended hours to support project deadlines.
\n

Compensation

$120,000 - $150,000 annually
