Security Officer

Overview The Security Officer I provides a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors, staff and property of Swedish Medical Center/Swedish Edmonds. Due to the continuous public contact of the position the highest level of customer service skills is essential. Security Officers conduct random patrols of Swedish Medical Center/Swedish Edmond property, respond to and investigate security incidents, report safety hazards, and appropriately document actions and observations made during the shift. Responsibilities Conduct random patrols of the facility and property. Respond to and investigate security incidents, report safety hazards, and document actions and observations. Maintain a safe, secure environment for patients, visitors, staff and property. Qualifications Required: Within 90 days of hire – Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (Facility Managed). Required: Within 6 months (180 days) – Successful TASER Training and annual re-certification (Facility Managed). Required: Within 6 months (180 days) – Successful AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training (Facility Managed). Required: Customer service experience and/or training. Preferred: Associate\'s Degree. Preferred: 1 year of related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience. Preferred: Healthcare security experience. Why Join Providence? The successful candidate\'s placement on the wage range will be determined based on relevant experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
