As Laser Operator at Laserflex, a part of Ryerson Family of companies, you are responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of our flat laser cutting machines to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. Roles and Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (Trumpf) Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures Load and unload raw materials and finished product using forklifts and overhead cranes Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and job orders Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment and designated work area Inspect finished parts for accuracy using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc. Follow all company safety policies and procedures All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Requirements Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills Basic math skills including conversions Ability to adapt, multitask, and prioritize in an environment that is rapidly changing Ability to have high attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication skills Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training Shift: Monday through Thursday 5pm - 3:30am We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation or preference, and pregnancy), age, national origin, religion, disability or genetic information, marital status, status as a veteran, or any other federal, state or local protected class or artificial barrier. #J-18808-Ljbffr
