Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller will support our outsourced accounting clients and work closely with senior team members to help maintain accurate financial records, prepare reporting, and support day-to-day accounting functions.

Responsibilities

• Track expenses, budgets, cash flow, receipts, and other accounting and administrative activity for assigned clients.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analyses.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Maintain and review general ledger activity.
• Assist with budgets and cash flow projections, as needed.
• Support the monthly accounting close process.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare subcontractor 1099s and other IRS year-end reporting requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of audit packages and board reporting.
• Perform credit card management and reconciliations.
• Support and train junior staff members, as appropriate.
• Assist with special projects as requested.

Eligibility

• 5+ year with 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior accounting, Assistant Controller, or similar role.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is required.
• Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
• Self-motivated and willing to take initiative on projects.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
