General Manager

Motel 6 Palmdale  is looking for a driven, hands-on, and results-oriented General Manager to lead our property and team!

This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys being at the center of hotel operations, developing people, solving problems, and creating an environment where both guests and employees have a great experience.

As General Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and overall performance of the property, working closely with your team to maintain high standards of guest service, cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the daily operations of the entire hotel
• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the hotel team
• Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance
• Ensure exceptional guest service and respond effectively to guest concerns
• Drive positive guest experiences and maintain strong service standards
• Oversee front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and other hotel operations
• Monitor room availability, occupancy, rates, and overall property performance
• Work to maximize occupancy, revenue, and profitability
• Monitor expenses, labor costs, supplies, and other operational costs
• Assist with scheduling and staffing to ensure appropriate coverage
• Recruit, interview, train, and onboard team members as needed
• Develop employees and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
• Conduct regular property inspections and ensure the hotel meets cleanliness and maintenance standards
• Ensure company policies, procedures, and brand standards are consistently followed
• Address maintenance, housekeeping, safety, and operational issues promptly
• Review reports and operational data to identify trends and opportunities
• Oversee cash handling, deposits, inventory, and other financial controls
• Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and safety requirements
• Build a positive, professional, and accountable team culture
• Communicate effectively with ownership, management, employees, vendors, and guests
• Take ownership of problems and find practical solutions
• Be visible and hands-on throughout the property

What We’re Looking For

• Previous hotel or hospitality management experience preferred
• Proven leadership and team-management experience
• Strong understanding of hotel operations
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership
• Ability to lead, coach, and hold employees accountable
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
• Business-minded approach with an understanding of revenue, expenses, and profitability
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and high standards
• Professional, positive, and energetic attitude
• Comfortable being a hands-on leader who works alongside the team when needed
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as necessary
