Details Hospital-based Ortho unit with Med/Surg Tele patient population 3x12 night shift schedule (6:45 PM-7:15 AM) Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on need Floating required to similar units based on skill set and demonstrated competencies Patient ratio of 1:6 Uses Omnicell medication dispensing system Uses EPIC EMR Requirements Active TN RN license or multistate/compact license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent experience in MS/Tele or related specialty required Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred Prior charge nurse experience preferred First-time travelers not considered for this role Additional Information Primary unit is Orthopedics; candidates must also be competent in MS/Tele for floating assignments Skills utilized include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line blood draws, PICC line management, port access, and peripheral IV management Experience with GI-related care such as bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy management, and feeding tube care is beneficial Ortho-specific skills such as total joint replacement care and peripheral nerve block catheter management are advantageous Must complete an EKG competency exam and MS/Tele competency validation Orientation occurs every Monday, with annual compliance training required Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with limited exceptions for night shift specialties allowing 50 miles from the contracted campus Previous employees who worked as permanent staff and are returning as travelers may be subject to a required separation period before eligibility American Traveler Job ID P-749095.
