Medical Records SpecialistThe Medical Records Specialist works with the Care Navigation Team to improve efficiency and quality of care by ensuring that all patient medical records are readily available in an organized, easily accessible format. At Arista, we believe exceptional care starts with the people who provide it, and we are committed to providing a collaborative workplace where people feel valued, empowered, and inspired to grow.Responsibilities Key to Your Success:Facilitate new patient referral intake process by acquiring, organizing, appropriately summarizing, and tracking medical records from all providers involved in the current and historical care of an individual patientRecognize that accurate and easily referenced medical records greatly impact the quality, cost, and outcome of care for every patientBuild a strong working relationship with the Care Navigation Team, which includes the Care Navigator and Hospital Logistics ExpertLearn to read, understand, and honor medical records and practice style of community general veterinary practice teams and the Arista specialty & emergency teamsFacilitate the ongoing client/patient journey by managing concise electronic medical records across systemsHelp develop and improve the electronic tools needed to streamline and create more efficiencies in the provision of advanced careDemonstrate and uphold Arista's Core Values and Hospital MissionDemonstrate professionalism and compassion toward patients, clients, and colleagues, especially during stressful situationsMaintain confidentiality of patients, clients, colleagues, and business informationComply with all applicable federal, state, local, professional licensure, safety, controlled substance, and hospital policy and requirementsWhat You'll Bring to the Team:5+ years of experience working in healthcare - veterinary technician, nurse, or relevant clinical experienceExperience in both general practice and specialty/emergency veterinary medicine preferredHigh proficiency with Electronic Medical Record/PIMS systems as well as email, efax, PDF, and document scanningMust be comfortable with medical terminology, medical records, and diagnostic reportsExtremely organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated for an efficient working styleClear and friendly verbal and written communication skills (in-person, telephone, texting, etc.)Ability to work independently while staying connected to a teamCommitment to exceptional customer service, high-quality care, and overall excellenceFull-Time, Work from Home PositionFrequent sittingAbility to meet any position-specific screening requirements, such as a clinical acumen assessmentMust be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
