Industrial Operations Area Manager What challenges will I tackle?

Can you translate strategy into shop-floor results while keeping people safe and engaged? In this role, you will plan daily operations, align resources, and lead a union-represented workforce to hit output, cost, and quality targets—then push past them through continuous improvement.

• Shape team performance with structured meetings, fair performance appraisals, staffing oversight, and focused career development.
• Raise the bar through coaching and training that elevate productivity, quality, morale, and cooperation.
• Provide actionable feedback and maintain proper documentation for disciplinary actions.
• Onboard and mentor new supervisors to expand leadership capacity.
• Lead orientation and EHS training to embed safety and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, partner with union leaders, and resolve grievances.
• Apply and uphold all company policies, procedures, and practices.
• Build production schedules and allocate work teams to meet demand.
• Interpret operating data to find inefficiencies, prevent delays, and control costs.
• Champion EHS, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Implement and sustain ABS and 6S; conduct regular safety and 6S audits.
• Coordinate with supply chain and other functions to maintain product flow and accurate inventory.
• Serve as a resource for policy clarification and company initiatives.
• Troubleshoot emergencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Produce and analyze operational documentation and production reports.
• Continuously improve procedures for safety, efficiency, and compliance.
• Invent and deploy methods that reduce cost and maximize labor and material utilization.
• Work with management, engineering, and quality to resolve maintenance/production issues and enhance processes.
• Support budgeting and target-setting.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to achieve business goals.

What’s in it for me?

• Base salary: $72,000 – $88,000 annually
• Annual performance bonus: Based on strategic KPIs and operational goals
• Additional shift premium: $350 per additional shift worked
• Holiday premium: $700 for working designated holidays
• Expected schedule: Required to work one weekend per month

What qualifications do I need? Basic

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience

Preferred

• Supervisory experience in manufacturing
• Exposure to TPM, Synchronous Manufacturing, and Kaizen
• Strong communicator and team-builder across all levels
• Track record managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, technical environment
• Self-starter who leads change and implementation
• PC proficiency and documentation management skills
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and people skills
• Ability to nurture a continuous improvement culture
