Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Food Service Worker to join a busy cafeteria team. In this role, you prepare and assemble light meals such as salads, sandwiches, wraps, and fruit cups, while maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment. You work efficiently in a fast-paced food service setting, consistently follow recipes and guidelines, and provide friendly service to guests, patients, students, or employees.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble sandwiches, wraps, salads, fruit cups, and other light meal items according to established standards.
• Portion, package, and label food products accurately in line with company guidelines.
• Assist with meal service and food distribution to guests, patients, students, or employees.
• Follow recipes and preparation guidelines to ensure consistent quality and portion control.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and adhere to all food safety regulations.
• Stock food, supplies, and service areas to ensure readiness for meal periods.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and workstations throughout the shift.
• Wash dishes and assist with general kitchen cleanup duties as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and promptly notify supervisors of low or out-of-stock items.
• Provide friendly, professional, and customer-oriented service at all times.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and sanitation guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Food preparation experience, including food prep work or line cook duties.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced food service or production environment.
• Customer service orientation with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Knowledge of basic food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
• Teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate and support coworkers.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in food service, cafeteria, deli, catering, or restaurant settings preferred.
• Experience preparing sandwiches, salads, and other ready-to-serve food items.
• Exp in food production or general labor within a kitchen or cafeteria environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in an air-conditioned cafeteria setting, providing a comfortable indoor work environment. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., offering regular daytime hours. Work involves standing for extended periods, moving between preparation and service areas, and handling light to moderate lifting up to 25 pounds. You use typical kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation tools while following established safety and sanitation practices.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The pay range for this position is $16.94 - $16.94/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Fort Lauderdale,FL.
