Dental Practice Manager - Fulltime, Monday through Friday
Bilingual Spanish and Medicaid Dental Experience Required
Compensation: $38 - $45 per hour DOE + Benefits

We are looking for a hands-on Dental Practice Manager who knows how to run a dental office, lead a team and drive results. For this Hempstead practice, bilingual Spanish/English fluency and meaningful Medicaid dental experience are non-negotiable.

The opportunity

This is an 8-operatory, multi-provider practice with significant opportunity for growth. The practice is not yet at full capacity, giving the incoming manager an opportunity to establish strong systems, build the team and improve operations before volume increases.

The Practice Manager will have centralized RCM and operational support, plus approximately one week of hands-on training with experienced dental operations leaders.

Bottom line: We are looking for a bilingual, Medicaid-savvy dental operator who can run the office, lead the team and own the results.

The Non-Negotiables

• Bilingual Spanish/English — required
• Meaningful Medicaid dental experience — required
• Prior dental practice management/front-office leadership experience
• Strong understanding of dental insurance, Medicaid workflows, eligibility, authorizations and patient balances
• Experience managing patient flow, scheduling, collections and treatment acceptance
• Ability to lead and hold a front-office team accountable 

What success looks like

We need a hands-on Practice Manager who takes ownership of the entire practice, not someone who simply manages the front desk. The right person will be able to

• Run the day : Manage patient flow, schedules, cancellations, no-shows and bottlenecks.
• Know the numbers : Understand patient ledgers, insurance vs. patient balances, collections and outstanding treatment.
• Drive production : Keep doctor and hygiene schedules productive, reappoint patients and follow up on unscheduled treatment.
• Move treatment forward: Confidently discuss treatment plans with patients, explain their financial responsibility, address questions or barriers, and help patients move forward with recommended care.
• Navigate Medicaid: Understand eligibility, authorizations, documentation and the unique requirements of a Medicaid patient population.
• Lead the team: Set clear expectations, address performance issues and create accountability.
• Proactively Solve problems : Investigate issues, follow through and escalate appropriately rather than simply passing problems along.
• Communicate effectively : Build trust with patients and team members across a diverse community, in both Spanish and English.
• Partner with providers: Work effectively with doctors, hygienists, assistants and centralized support teams.
• Think like an owner : Understand how daily execution impacts the practice’s financial and operational performance.

• Is comfortable discussing money with patients professionally and directly
• Is organized, responsive and dependable
• Arrives on time and expects the same level of accountability from the team
• Can handle a fast-moving environment without losing track of details
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills for a patient base with a wide range of backgrounds
• Can balance a strong patient experience with the operational and financial needs of the practice
• Has and Associates degree or equivalent experience
• Has CareStack experience is a strong plus, but it is not required

Raio Dental Hempstead is an established 8-operatory, multi-provider dental practice located at 250 Fulton Ave, Suite 320 in Hempstead, New York.

We serve a diverse community and are looking for a Practice Manager who understands both the clinical-office environment and the needs of a Medicaid patient population.

The practice is not yet operating at full patient capacity, giving the incoming manager a good opportunity to get established, learn the team and providers, improve systems and create a strong operating foundation before volume increases.

The practice is part of a growing dental organization that is investing in its practices, technology, staffing and patient experience. The Practice Manager will have access to centralized revenue-cycle and operational support while retaining responsibility for making sure the practice executes well every day.

We are not looking for someone whose management style is simply making the schedule, answering phones and putting out fires. We want someone who knows what is happening with the patients, the team, the schedule and the money and who takes responsibility for getting things done.
