Lead Analyst, Consumer Insights
We are seeking a Lead Analyst, Consumer Insights to help shape product innovation, go-to-market strategy, and business growth within a leading electrical products organization. This role will serve as the voice of the customer, using market research, customer data, and analytics to understand the needs and behaviors of contractors, distributors, and end users. The ideal candidate is someone who can take complex research and data, identify meaningful trends, and turn those findings into clear, actionable recommendations that influence product development, marketing, channel strategy, and the overall customer experience.
What You'll Do
- Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative market research, including surveys, customer interviews, jobsite observations, field testing, and Voice of Customer (VOC) programs
- Analyze contractor behavior, purchasing patterns, customer needs, and pain points across electrical product categories
- Identify insights related to product usage, installation challenges, productivity, and customer preferences
- Develop customer segmentation models based on contractor type, application, sales channel, and jobsite needs
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to incorporate customer insights into new product development
- Translate research findings into product requirements, feature priorities, and customer value propositions
- Identify market whitespace and opportunities for new products or expansion into adjacent categories
- Analyze competitive products, channel strategies, and market/share shifts
- Turn complex data and research findings into concise insights and strategic recommendations for business leaders
- Establish and maintain best practices for customer insights, research methodologies, and data integrity
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Market Research, Business Analytics, Product Management, Engineering, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, Voice of Customer, product marketing, commercial analytics, or a related field
- Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, construction, contractor, or B2B markets
- Experience conducting customer research and translating findings into actionable business recommendations
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to communicate complex data and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, or Commercial teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Marketing Research, Business Analytics, Market Intelligence, Product Management, Engineering, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, product strategy, or commercial analytics
- Experience with electrical products, construction products, industrial manufacturing, contractor research, channel marketing, or B2B customer insights
- Experience with market segmentation, competitive analysis, and Voice of Customer programs
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization/analytics tools
- Certifications in market research, data analytics, product management, or VOC methodologies
- Pragmatic Institute certification or similar market research/product management certification
