Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (Adults) with 2+ years of acute/critical care experience and an active Nevada RRT license for a Level II trauma center in Reno, NV.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Care Services department of a Level II trauma center with 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds
• Treat adult patients in critical care and general care units
• 3x12-hour shifts on rotating days of the week with varied shift times
• Uses Epic EMR, with training available during orientation or test-out option
• May float to other areas based on organizational needs, within competency level
• Call requirements to be discussed during interview
• Schedule may include weekends and call shifts

Requirements

• Active Nevada RRT license required prior to submission
• Must apply for State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care license prior to start
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of acute care respiratory therapy experience required
• Recent critical care experience required
• Minimum one prior 13-week travel assignment required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders to improve cardiopulmonary conditions of patients from newborn to geriatric ages
• Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation of care, and evaluation of patients and families across the age continuum
• Initiate, refine, transition, discontinue, and restart therapy under structured protocols as patient condition dictates
• Maintain proper documentation of patient records and department logs
• Deliver a positive patient experience through clear communication and service recovery practices
• Work in an extremely busy, fast-paced environment serving a 500-mile radius
• Must work a minimum of 2 major holidays during the assignment
• May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• Subject to low census call-offs of up to 48 hours per 13-week contract without penalty
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Returning employees must have a 13-week break after completing a prior contract
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• RTO requests must be submitted with the application and will not be added to the end of the contract
