Mental Health Associate I - Adult/Psych - Evanston Hospital - Per Diem Evening/NOC Shifts

Hourly Pay Range:$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Position Highlights:Position: Mental Health Associate ILocation: Evanston HospitalFull Time/Part Time: Per Diem Level 2PD2 – 9-14/8hour shifts in a 6 week periodHours: Evening and NOC shifts (3:00-11:30pm/11:00-7:30am) Weekends and Holidays RequiredWhat you will do:Facilitates didactic, educational and unit/program community groups within the assigned treatment programs. Encourages and facilitates patients’ participation in therapeutic activities. Supervises patients to ensure their safety and their involvement in treatment.Ensures patient safety by providing one-to-one supervision. Unit rounds are conducted, and precautions records completed in real time. Precautions records are accurately labeled.Orients new patients to unit, program and milieu by establishing a rapport with patients and families and making necessary introductions. Provides appropriate hand off information when accepting or receiving borders from other units.Participates in treatment planning by working with interdisciplinary team to identify patients’ problems, needs and strengths, suggests modifications to treatment plan based on observation of patient behavior and provides input into discharge planning.Completes patient, program, and department documentation.Performs various clerical and administrative assignments to support department operations.Monitors and reports patients’ progress and communicates information to charge person on assigned shift and family members.What you will need:Education and/or Experience Required:A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a Behavioral Health related field, no previous experience orA Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a non-Behavioral Health related field, a minimum of one year of behavioral health experienceMaintain information as highly confidentialAbility to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervisionEducation and/or Experience Preferred:Familiarity with medical and psychological terminologySkills in teaching or assisting with activities of daily livingPrior experience with therapeutic limit-setting and milieu managementLicensure and/or Certification Required:A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location.
