Omni Frisco Hotel at the Star The Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star is the official hotel of the Dallas Cowboys and serves as a social hub for food, entertainment, and meeting spaces. Located 20 minutes north of downtown Dallas, the 16‑story hotel offers 300 guest rooms and suites, 24,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, an elevated pool deck, and a range of on‑site dining and retail options. Position Event Concierge Department Catering Sales Purpose Serve as the liaison between Catering/Convention Service Managers, Meeting Planners, and all operational departments during onsite meetings and events, ensuring that all guest needs are met and that each event proceeds smoothly and satisfactorily. Reports to Catering Sales Manager and Director of Catering Essential Functions Assist Convention Services and Catering Managers as the onsite liaison between Meeting Planners and operational departments. Communicate with the Event Concierge team and Managers to ensure a seamless experience. Maintain basic knowledge of hotel departments and their roles in fulfilling guests’ needs. Manage and assist all aspects of hotel events, including daily coordination. Ensure arrangements meet specifications and create memorable experiences during meetings and conferences. Proactively resolve problems, keeping clients advised on event status and pending items. Multi‑task and prioritize multiple requests and information; strong time‑management skills required. Utilize Delphi software to generate necessary documents and make changes as needed. Have detailed knowledge of the hotel meeting space, group dynamics, and event details. Execute special projects as assigned by the Department Manager. Attend daily Banquet Event Order meetings and weekly resume meetings as needed. Recommend special outside services when required. Coordinate and attend pre‑convention meetings prior to scheduled conferences. Hotel Specific Qualifications Preferred: previous catering, convention services, or meeting‑planning experience. Operations/administrative experience in hotels, with banquet operation knowledge, is also preferred. Required: One (1) year of face‑to‑face customer service experience. High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; clear, pleasant communication with guests, management, and co‑workers. Accurate and efficient computer data entry skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with co‑workers within and outside the department. Strong decision‑making skills; think clearly and quickly. Capable of working well under pressure, handling multiple guest requests in a short timeframe. Computer proficiency, especially Delphi experience, is a plus. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment. Maintain a calm and welcoming demeanor in stressful situations. Customer‑service orientation with a desire to create memorable guest experiences. Proficiency with office equipment, including calculators, photocopiers, and fax machines. Excellent telephone etiquette. Physical requirements: lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 40 pounds; stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; repeated motion in telephone/computer use. Flexible schedule: must work evenings, weekends, and holidays and be willing to work various shifts within a given work week. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Opera, BirchStreet, Gocom, Delphi, Meeting Matrix, and other common hotel software. Working Environment Interior hotel office conditions.
