Job Opportunity: Pediatric Gastroenterologist

Our organization is actively searching for board-certified or board-eligible candidates in Pediatric Gastroenterology to fill a full-time position within our Division. The Department of Pediatrics at our medical school is looking to expand its team by adding one Gastroenterologist to the Pediatric Gastroenterology division, which currently consists of eight Pediatric Gastroenterologists and a Nurse Practitioner.

The Pediatric Gastroenterology division offers extensive gastroenterology and nutrition services to patients in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. Our outpatient services are delivered through general gastroenterology clinics and specialized team center clinics that cater to patients with:

• Intestinal failure (home TPN)
• Enteral feeding tubes
• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Cystic fibrosis
• Chronic lung disease
• Spina bifida
• Home mechanical ventilation
• Liver disease

Our Pediatric GI team center clinics are supported by a dedicated nurse specialist, a dietician, a social worker, and additional administrative staff.

Our medical center and children's hospital serve as a tertiary care referral facility for the Inland Empire, encompassing Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono counties. We boast a state-of-the-art endoscopy lab that performs a variety of procedures, including:

• General endoscopic procedures
• Motility studies
• Bio-feedback programs
• IB Stim
• Breath hydrogen studies
• Esophageal pH studies

Additionally, we provide full-time anesthesia services for endoscopic procedures. While we do not have a liver transplant program, we collaborate with regional institutions for pre- and post-transplant care.

As a member of our division, the selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Delivering clinical care to pediatric gastroenterology patients
• Engaging in teaching responsibilities for the medical school and pediatric residency program

The ideal candidate should excel as both a clinician and educator, as our children's hospital hosts a large residency program with 84 pediatric residents and 16 Med-Peds residents participating in the gastroenterology program. Preference will be given to applicants with experience or interest in motility disorders. There are numerous opportunities for both basic and clinical research.

The starting base compensation for this role ranges from $256,850 to $299,650, adjusted according to years of experience and faculty rank. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity incentives and is subject to departmental compensation plans. Further details regarding compensation will be discussed during the recruitment process.
