Patent Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Description Job Description Patent Litigation Associate Attorney Direct Counsel is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Los Angeles or San Francisco, California .
This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 1-3 years of patent litigation experience to join a nationally recognized Intellectual Property practice. The team represents clients in high-stakes patent disputes involving cutting-edge technologies across industries including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, software, semiconductors, telecommunications, mechanical devices, and computer hardware.
Responsibilities Represent clients in patent infringement litigation in U.S. district courts. Assist with appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Participate in proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, claim construction filings, and other substantive litigation documents. Conduct legal and technical research and analyze complex patent issues. Assist with depositions, expert discovery, trial preparation, and trial proceedings. Advise clients on patent-related matters, including technology transactions, trade secret disputes, and patent-adjacent antitrust issues. Collaborate with clients, technical experts, and multidisciplinary legal teams to develop litigation strategy. Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. 1-3 years of patent litigation experience. Admission to the California Bar is preferred but not required at the time of application. Strong understanding of U.S. patent law and patent litigation procedures. Technical degree or relevant technical work experience is preferred. Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is a plus, but not required. Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, and advocacy skills. Outstanding academic credentials and strong written and verbal communication skills. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $225,000-$435,000, commensurate with class year, experience, and qualifications. Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including competitive associate compensation and benefits consistent with a leading Am Law firm.
