divh2Executive Underwriter - Group Captives/h2pZurich is currently hiring an Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriting Director - Group Captives for our Schaumburg HQ! While it is preferred that this position works a hybrid schedule of three days per week of our Schaumburg, IL office, we are open to remote candidates with the U.S. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents. As one of the leaders in this space, we work together with the largest captives consultants in the U.S. to deliver a wide range of services to member-owned, agency and other (fronted) captives. This role will be filled at either an Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriting Director level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicants experience and skillset relative to the qualifications listed for this position./ppCore Responsibilities:/pulliProactively seek renewal and new account opportunities for captives/liliComplete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities/liliQualify accounts to meet with the organizations appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity/liliHelp with the daily administrative requests that come in on policy maintenance/liliManage broker and captive consultant interactions/liliServe as a technical resource to less tenured team members/liliNegotiate Terms Conditions and close deals/liliParticipate in Sales Team meetings related to assigned brokers and / or territory/liliMeasure exposure/analyze risk and pricing on new business/liliWillingness to travel 20% including international travel roughly twice a year/li/ulpBasic Qualifications:/pulliHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area. OR/liliHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR/liliZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR/liliZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND/liliKnowledge of Microsoft Office Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business Experience working in a team environment/li/ulpPreferred Qualifications:/pulliBachelors Degree/liliConstruction underwriting experience/liliStrong verbal and written communication skills/liliMicrosoft Office experience/liliEstablished Underwriting/Insurance exposure/liliIntermediate insurance level understanding/liliEvidence of effective negotiation skills/liliExperience handling difficult conversations/li/ulpYour pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. The combined salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - 215,000.00. The proposed salary range for the Executive Underwriter is $100,000.00 - $165,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%. The proposed salary range for the AVP, Underwriting Director is $130,000.00 - $215,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
