Senior Insurance Underwriter (Remote)

As a member of our Private Client Select underwriting team you will focus on underwriting personal lines Property & Casualty products for high net-worth individuals in the US.

Responsible for underwriting a book consisting of large accounts and complex risks for partner brokers.
Rapidly evaluates, prioritizes, and selects submissions to ensure completeness and rate adequacy, evaluate risks and controls, and ensure compatibility with risk appetite.
Identify risk exposures, special or common hazards, claims experience and appropriate controls. Analyze claims and quantifying losses.
Adhere to guidelines and underwriting discipline to minimize exposure and appropriately price risks. Offer coverage, terms and conditions which generate a profit for the Company while meeting the needs of the customer.
Meet new business and renewal retention goals through strong negotiation and communication skills which may involve virtual and onsite meetings with brokers, clients, or centers of influence.
Identify and target new business and cross sell opportunities by building relationships with producers and account managers.
Communicate risk appetite and value proposition.
Capture market intelligence and broker feedback on accounts to drive account and portfolio strategies.
Document underwriting files accordingly per authority statements and guidelines.
Engage in various underwriting and marketing projects to improve overall company results.
Strictly adhere to the underwriting authority vested by the insurance carrier partner.
Optimize profitable, new business growth by implementing marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, acquire new customers and establish a reputation as an industry leader.

4-7 years of Personal Lines Property & Casualty Insurance underwriting experience or relevant professional experience.

• Takes initiative on projects and assignments, seeks alternate solutions when necessary.
• Microsoft Excel knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
