Job DescriptionSenior Facilities Manager\n\nAbout Vandelay Companies\nVandelay Companies is a growing restaurant organization committed to delivering exceptional food, service, and guest experiences across a diverse portfolio of restaurants.\n\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day facilities operations across our restaurant portfolio. This position is responsible for ensuring our restaurants remain safe, functional, well-maintained, and operational while managing service requests, preventive maintenance, vendors, repairs, and facility-related costs.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n Take full ownership of the day-to-day facilities operations for all assigned restaurant locations\n Serve as the primary facilities contact for General Managers and restaurant leadership\n Manage all facilities service requests through the company’s designated service-request platform\n Review, prioritize, assign, and monitor work orders through the service-request platform\n Ensure emergency and operationally critical issues receive immediate attention\n Manage the day-to-day performance of facilities vendors and contractors, review quotes for accuracy and necessity, and identify opportunities to reduce costs\n Own preventive maintenance compliance across the restaurant portfolio\n Manage day-to-day facilities spending within established budgets\n Review repair proposals, estimates, invoices, and service charges, identify unnecessary or excessive repair costs, monitor Repair and Maintenance spending by location, provide recommendations for major repairs, replacements, and capital needs\n Identify opportunities to reduce long-term operating costs\n Build strong relationships with GMs, Chefs, and Operations leadership\n Communicate clearly regarding facility issues and expected completion timelines with all invested parties\n Minimize operations disruption during repairs, educate restaurant leadership on basic facility care, respond quickly to emergencies, and establish credibility through consistent follow-through\n Oversee the condition of building exteriors, parking areas, landscaping, signage, lighting, drainage, and other exterior elements\n Ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and presentable for guests and employees\n Coordinate repairs with property managers, landlords, contractors, and vendors when applicable\n The Senior Facilities Manager will support the Director of Facilities as needed in new restaurant openings, with existing facility knowledge and operational requirements, equipment information, vendor coordination, pre-opening maintenance needs, operational turnover, and post-opening warranty / service issues\n The Senior Facilities Manager will assume responsibility for the restaurant once the project has been formally turned over to Operations / Facilities, ensuring the location transitions successfully into the day-to-day facilities program\n\n\nQualifications\n• 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, maintenance, property management, or a related field\n• Experience managing multiple commercial locations simultaneously\n• Demonstrated experience managing outside vendors and contractors\n• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, and general building systems\n• Proven ability to manage budgets, quotes, invoices, and repair costs\n• Strong organizational and project-management skills\n• Excellent written and verbal communication\n• Ability to prioritize multiple competing issues in a fast-paced operating environment\n• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills\n• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision\n• Willingness to travel between restaurant locations as required\n\nPerks\n• Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits available\n• Professional development and career growth\n• Paid Time Off\n• Dining discounts at all of the Vandelay Companies’ portfolio\n• All Vandelay Companies restaurants are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July so our team can celebrate with their friends and family\n\nVandelay Companies provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or any other federal/state protected category\n
