Senior Estimator (HVAC)

A respected and growing construction organization is seeking a Senior HVAC Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This individual will play a critical role in evaluating opportunities, developing accurate and competitive estimates, and helping secure complex commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in HVAC and mechanical construction estimating, a strategic mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations, project management, and executive leadership. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed conceptual, budgetary, negotiated, and hard-bid estimates for HVAC and mechanical construction projects. Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop complete scopes of work and accurate cost projections. Perform quantity takeoffs for HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal, and related systems. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals. Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing. Identify project risks, cost‑saving opportunities, and value engineering solutions. Participate in bid strategy meetings and proposal development efforts. Collaborate with project management and operations teams to ensure seamless project handoff following award. Maintain current knowledge of market pricing, labor trends, and industry best practices. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners. Qualifications 7+ years of estimating experience within the HVAC, mechanical, or specialty construction industry. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sheet metal, piping, plumbing, and mechanical construction methods. Experience estimating commercial, healthcare, industrial, institutional, data center, life sciences, or other complex construction projects. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, though equivalent industry experience will be considered.
