Operations Supervisor Our company The Element by Marriott Seattle Downtown is looking for an Operations Supervisor to join our team. We are managed by Puget Sound Hospitality which owns and operates 6 hotels in the Puget sound area. The details Salary range: $26.42 – $26.42 per hour Location: 601 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109. Commute/Transportation: We are located near several bus routes and offer a discounted annual ORCA pass. If you prefer to drive, we offer free parking to all of our employees in our underground garage. Benefits: Our benefits package is available to full time employees after they complete 60 days of employment. This package includes medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D. We also have 6 paid holidays. PTO is accrued at 0.0538 hours per hour starting on day 1 of employment. We partner with Colonial life to offer supplemental insurance options such as accident, short term disability, and whole life during our annual enrollment. We have a 401(K) retirement plan available to all employees who are 21+ and have been employed for 6 months. We offer Marriott employee room rates as well as Marriott friends and family room rates that can be used based on availability at any Marriott location worldwide. Work shifts: Flexible to work a variety of shifts with a primary need for the PM shift to support hotel operations teams. The daily job duties The Operations Supervisor ensures the hotel operations departments which include Front Desk, F&B and Housekeeping follow all standards and procedures while leading the team to meet or exceed property goals. This position will work where the support is needed and varies day to day based on department needs. Responsibilities in this role may include but are not limited to: Support Food and Beverage Create schedules and oversee daily dining and kitchen operations Coach, train, and mentor staff; support both front and back of house Manage inventory, place orders, count liquor, and process invoices Ensure food quality, safety, and sanitation compliance Engage with guests, handle complaints, and resolve issues Support Ops Manager with operations, staffing, and reporting Maintain par stock levels and monitor food costs Review forecasts and guest counts to plan accordingly Attend meetings, provide feedback, and assist teammates as needed Uphold attendance, punctuality, grooming, and service standards Perform other duties as assigned by leadership Support Front desk Oversee daily front desk operations and ensure task completion and team productivity Deliver and monitor high-quality guest service; coach and evaluate staff performance Train associates on Marriott Bonvoy, Shaping Service, and brand standards Manage department payroll, correct time punches, and create weekly schedules Provide shift coverage for Front Desk and Night Audit when needed Handle ordering for department and guest supplies Supervise and assist with guest check-ins/outs professionally and efficiently Serve as Manager on Duty and resolve guest issues to ensure satisfaction Understand and uphold audit processes and department procedures Prepare for group arrivals/departures and manage room blocks Maximize occupancy and average room rate Model professional communication and attentive guest service behavior Support Housekeeping Assign daily housekeeping tasks using the hotel system; ensure fair distribution before shifts begin and that the housekeepers are assigned the proper square footage to clean. Manage and track housekeeping keys; ensure proper check-in/out Distribute checklists to Aide, lobby, and laundry teams Inspect public areas and guest rooms; provide feedback and ensure corrections. Update computer system with clean rooms, and update hotel ordinance spreadsheets with daily room cleaning data for each room attendant. Support managers with administrative tasks: payroll, ordering, inventory, incentives, reviews, discipline, project tracking, and invoices Assist associates with questions, requests, and issues Manage lost and found: record, store, communicate with guests, and ship items Participate in and support department meetings The Requirements Valid Washington State Food workers card Basic mathematical skills Able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours) Able to safely lift and easily maneuver bags, boxes, and containers weighing up to 25 pounds Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager Follow all company policies and procedures Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information Protect our company assets Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards Anticipate and address guests’ service needs Assist individuals with disabilities Thank guests with genuine appreciation Speak with others using clear and professional language Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors or managers Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
