General Function A licensed Optician at Sunglass Hut serves as an ambassador of the brand, delivering excellent service, filling ophthalmic sunglass prescriptions, fitting & adapting lenses and frames, and supporting store operations to help achieve sales goals. The role requires knowledge of store policies for opening, closing, and operating the store. Major Duties and Responsibilities Welcome all customers and set expectations. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses. Act as a leader in optical acumen. Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs. Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions. Use technology accurately and efficiently under time pressure and customer volume. Proactively explore root causes of issues, use forward‑thinking solutions, and exceed customer expectations. Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities. Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies. Take pride in store appearance, keeping it clean, attractive, and organized. Be resourceful, self‑motivated, and dedicated to continual learning and improvement. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management. Basic Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. State licensure in opticianry. Optical dispensing experience. Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder. Knowledge of current store merchandise. Strong basic math skills. Awareness of current fashion trends. Selling skills – ability to use and carry a tablet/iPad. Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators. Embrace new technology and change. Preferred Qualifications Previous customer service and retail experience.
