Job Overview – Physical Therapist Compensation: $76,000/year Location: New York, NY Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Physical Therapist in New York, NY for our client, supporting pediatric physical therapy services, motor development, mobility training, and educational participation within a school-based setting. This role will work collaboratively with educators, therapists, families, and support staff to evaluate student needs and develop individualized treatment plans that promote independence and classroom success. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical skills, experience working with children, and a commitment to helping students achieve their functional and developmental goals. Responsibilities as the Physical Therapist: Student Evaluations: Conduct screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluations to identify motor, mobility, and functional performance needs. Therapeutic Interventions: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve gross motor skills, mobility, motor planning, and participation in educational activities. IEP Support: Contribute to the development of IEP goals, attend meetings, and provide recommendations to support student progress and educational access. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to coordinate services and support student development. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain timely and accurate treatment records, progress reports, evaluations, and required educational documentation. Family & Staff Education: Provide guidance, training, and recommendations to caregivers and school staff regarding therapeutic strategies, positioning, mobility, and adaptive supports. Qualifications for the Physical Therapist: Education: Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required. Licensure: Active New York State Physical Therapist license is required. Experience: 1–2 years of physical therapy experience within pediatric, educational, rehabilitation, or related healthcare settings is preferred. Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of pediatric motor development, mobility disorders, and school-based therapy services is required. Technical Skills: Proficiency with clinical documentation systems, Microsoft Office applications, and educational record management platforms is required. Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, collaboration, clinical assessment, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are required.
