Automotive Accounting Specialist

Staff AccountantWe are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Shared Resource Center (SRC) team. This position is responsible for reviewing and posting vehicle deals to the general ledger for multiple dealerships across several states, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company accounting policies.What You'll DoReview and post new and used vehicle deals to the general ledgerVerify deal structure, inventory transactions, and accounting accuracyEnsure proper recording of vehicle sales, trade-ins, payoffs, incentives, warranties, and ancillary productsReconcile inventory-related accounts and investigate discrepanciesWork closely with dealership personnel to resolve accounting and documentation issuesAssist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliationsMaintain compliance with company policies and accounting procedures across multiple dealership locationsSupport a high-volume, fast-paced accounting environmentWhat We're Looking ForAutomotive dealership accounting experience requiredStrong understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger accountingKnowledge of vehicle inventory accounting and reconciliation processesUnderstanding of cost accounting principlesAbility to analyze transactions and determine their financial impactStrong mathematical and analytical skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational abilitiesProficiency with dealership management systems and Microsoft Excel preferredAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesSuccess in This Role Looks LikeYou know the difference between a balance sheet account and an expense account.You understand that inventory doesn't magically disappear when a vehicle is sold.You can identify when a deal is missing key accounting components.You understand that every transaction has both a debit and a credit—and you know where they belong.You can maintain accuracy while processing a high volume of transactions across multiple dealerships.Why Join Our SRC Team?You'll be part of a centralized accounting team supporting multiple automotive dealerships, working alongside experienced professionals in an environment that values accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
