Mammo Tech Lead

Overview Under supervision, the Lead Mammographer oversees technical procedures, patient care and work flow in mammography area to ensure safe and effective patient care. Performs breast imaging procedures which may include stereotactic-guided biopsy procedures and breast ultrasound. Responsible for initial and annual training and competencies. Qualifications Education Level: College Diploma, Related Field Education Level: Certificate of Completion, Radiologic Technology Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Licenses/Certifications: Registered in Radiography (R) within 1 year - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Licenses/Certifications: Registered in Mammography (M) within 1 year (1) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA) Work Experience: Radiology, Length of Experience: 1+ years Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements: Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve work environment. Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative. Maintain MQSA standards. Responsibilities Performs all essential functions of the Mammo Technologist. Serves as a technical resource and subject matter expert for staff, management, and physicians in Mammography. Oversees the patient schedule and workflow to maximum efficiency as established by department benchmarking. Coordinates staff coverage during unexpected high exam volumes as well as minimizing staff in times of low volumes. Performs or has input in staff scheduling and timecard edits based on the department guidelines. Participates in QA/QC programs. Directs personnel in maintaining standards set out by accrediting bodies, licensures and safety guidelines. Participates in scheduling of department's technical equipment service and/or maintenance. Develops training programs and evaluates technical skills of staff. Responsible for ensuring staff has completed new employee and annual employee competencies. Recommends to the coordinator/manager/director personnel actions for hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures of staff. Participates in submitting information and imaging for accreditation following department guidelines for accreditation processing. Responsible for reporting timely updates to one up on progress. Aids in the annual review and periodic updates of department policies and protocols. Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $36.14per hour - $62.16per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
