Job Description Machine Shop Supervisor Tangipahoa Parish, LA Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire Pay: Competitive, Based on Experience Specialized Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations for a growing manufacturing facility in Tangipahoa Parish. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, a machining background, and the ability to oversee production while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Mazak experience is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Supervise and lead daily machine shop operations, ensuring production goals and deadlines are met. Oversee Manual Machinists, CNC Machinists, Welders, and other shop personnel. Assign workloads, monitor productivity, and provide coaching and training to team members. Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and according to customer specifications. Assist with machine setup, troubleshooting, and process improvements when needed. Review blueprints, drawings, and work orders to ensure production accuracy. Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process and address any issues promptly. Coordinate production schedules and prioritize jobs to maximize efficiency. Promote and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and productive shop environment. Communicate effectively with management regarding production status, staffing needs, and operational concerns. Assist with inventory control, tooling, and equipment maintenance. Qualifications Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a machine shop environment required . Mazak machining experience preferred. Strong background in CNC machining, manual machining, or manufacturing operations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Experience with precision measuring tools and quality inspection processes. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to motivate, train, and lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing setting. Why Work Through Specialized Staffing Solutions?
