Details Work in the Pediatric General Operating Room at a children's hospital Facility has 8 total ORs, with only 2 operational overnight Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30-07:00 Weekend work required, likely limited to Friday nights No on-call requirements Overnight shift covers urgent and emergent add-on cases only Floating within scope may be required if needed, though unlikely as this is a vacant essential position Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active SC or Compact RN license required Current BLS certification (AHA only) Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric setting required Minimum 2 prior traveler contracts required Pediatric and/or women's surgery experience preferred Skills in emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia management First-time travelers not accepted for this position Additional Information Provide direct perioperative nursing care within the pediatric OR setting Radiation badge will be provided by the parent company Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized for this role; local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation from the health system before returning as a traveler May be called off up to 10 hours per 2-week period Traveler may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September) All requested time off must be submitted and approved at the time of application, with approval based on facility needs American Traveler Job ID P-735216.
