DANCE - HS Head Coach (8843) Evergreen Public Schools – Mountain View High School – Vancouver, Washington Job Details Job ID: 5690344 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: May 04, 2026 7:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Position Title: Head High School Coach Position Details: DANCE Head Coach oversees all aspects of the dance program, including coaching, athletes’ development, and program administration. Coach enforces league, state, and national rules, ensures athlete safety, and promotes a positive, inclusive team environment. Qualifications Current First Aid/CPR card required. Current Type II driver's license required. Previous high school coaching experience preferred. Responsibilities Responsible to the Building/District Athletic Director/Coordinator. Must attend all after school practices, games, tournaments, meetings, etc. Must be able to drive district van to transport participants. Be responsible for all matters pertaining to organization and administration of coaching of the team under his/her direction. Enforce all rules of the league, state, and national association as they pertain to the respective sports. Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism. A completed and signed parental permission form and physical examination card must be in the coach or athletic office prior to an athlete beginning practice. Cooperate with the administration, athletic director, fellow coaches and students to promote the best interests of the entire athletic program. Work with the District Athletic Director in appointment and dismissal of assistant coaches in grades 7‑12. Hold meetings with assistant coaches to coordinate coaching methods, assign duties, and evaluate performance. Conform to Evergreen policy in ordering equipment and supplies for the sport involved. Ensure all candidates for a team have returned a properly completed clearance form. Ensure all candidates for a team have had a physical examination and have returned the physical examination/parental consent form before the first practice session. Prepare a roster of all team members; have participants fill out the athletic eligibility form. Assume responsibility for conduct of contestants, and ensure a group is secure after each competition. Accompany and supervise the team to and from all contests. Plan and supervise all practice sessions. Work with the Athletic Trainer. Ensure that students are not given keys to buildings when the coach is not present. Attend scheduled school meetings unless excused; arrange for coverage during sports season. Arrange for cleaning, storing, and inventory of all uniforms and equipment. Complete all requirements mandated by State – WIAA. Be active in professional organizations such as the state coaches association. Clarify letter award policy to athletes; recommend student athletes for special awards such as All‑League. Check transportation arrangements with the Building Athletic Director. Assume supervisory control over all levels of teams in the program. Enforce facility regulations. Emphasize safety precautions and use accepted training and injury procedures. Report contest outcomes to the media. Maintain records of the team and individual accomplishments. Recommend additions and/or improvements for the care and maintenance of facilities. Submit recommendations for the schedule for the next year.
