Job Details Location: Holyoke, MA 01040 Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse / Travel Psychiatric RN Setting: Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Nursing / Mental Health Nursing Assignment Length: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Shift Duration: 8-hour day shift Hours Per Week: 40 guaranteed hours Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,120 - $2,230 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Call: None Orientation: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays Patient Population: Adults 18 and over Unit Focus: Behavioral health / forensic care environment Job Requirements Active Massachusetts RN license at the time of submission Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience Experience working with mental health patients in a locked behavioral health setting Ability to administer medications using an automated dispensing system BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Handle With Care (HWC) certification, or willingness to complete it onsite if needed Strong communication skills and a compassionate, trauma-informed approach BSN preferred Responsibilities Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to adult behavioral health and psychiatric patients Support patients with bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, major depression, substance use disorders, and chronic medical needs Administer medications accurately and monitor patient response Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, rehab staff, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Use sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced, changing mental health environment Maintain patient safety while supporting therapeutic, trauma-informed care Document care in the EHR and complete routine monitoring, including vitals and point-of-care glucose checks Contribute to a positive team culture focused on respect, flexibility, and excellent patient outcomes Why This Travel Nursing Opportunity?
