We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housing Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will work within one or more housing programs to help low-income families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities access and afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing. Collaborating with team members, you will guide applicants through the eligibility, application, lease-up, and recertification processes, ensuring clear understanding of complex program requirements while administering various housing programs.

Housing Specialist Details:

• Temp-to-Hire position
• $20.00 / hour
• Full Time work available
• First Shift ( Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm )

• Determine program eligibility for applicants in accordance with established guidelines
• Support applicants through the successful completion of housing assistance applications
• Accurately and efficiently complete lease-up and recertification processes
• Clearly and patiently explain complex program requirements to diverse clientele, ensuring comprehension
• Administer various housing programs, consistently complying with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
• Schedule and conduct professional appointments and meetings
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential caseload files and documentation
• Perform other administrative duties as required to support the effective operation of housing programs

Housing Specialist Qualifications:

• Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to serving diverse populations
• Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations for accurate record-keeping and processing
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Experience in Property Management, particularly with Section 8 housing programs preferred
• Prior experience in Residential Property Management preferred

• Applicant may be subject to a background check
• Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
