Registered Behavior Technician in Acton, MA

This contract position seeks an experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join an elementary school setting, providing intensive support to K-2 students with autism and high behavioral needs. This assignment offers a chance to make a meaningful impact over the remainder of the current school year, with potential for extension based on future needs.


Key Qualifications:

• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required
• Previous experience in a school-based setting highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to work with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and significant behavioral challenges
• Proficiency implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), tracking behavior data, and applying de-escalation strategies
• SafetyCare training strongly preferred
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work alongside staff and multidisciplinary teams
• Comfort working within structured special education classrooms

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one and small group support to elementary students with autism, ensuring their safety and effective participation
• Implement and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans under the direction of school BCBA or behavioral specialists
• Accurately document and track behavioral data, communicating findings and observations to the team
• Assist teachers and staff with proactive classroom management and in-the-moment intervention strategies
• Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages student growth and skill development
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training as requested

Position Details:

• Full-time, contract, school-based role beginning as soon as possible
• Assignment runs through the end of the current school year, with the possibility of continuing
• Work directly within a dedicated elementary site focused on serving high-needs K-2 students
