Job Opportunity

Position Overview

This position is for a traveler assigned to a Progressive Care Unit within a healthcare facility. Following a week of orientation, the schedule will consist of 36 hours per week, but please note that there is no guarantee of hours.

Location

City: Honolulu, HI

Unit Details

• 15-bed Progressive Care Unit
• 3-Step Down ICU beds
• 12 telemetry beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care; 1:3 for Step Down ICU

Job Responsibilities

• Primary nursing care to patients in the unit
• Telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Performing fingerstick blood sugar tests

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis for medication administration
• BIPAP machines
• Continuous cardiac monitoring equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital experience within the past year
• Preferred experience in Progressive Care and telemetry
• Current ACLS certification preferred
• PALS certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred

Additional Requirements

Candidates without a current Hawaii Nursing License must apply for licensure upon acceptance of the job offer. It is required to arrive the Thursday before the assignment's start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday.

Floating Requirements

Candidates should be prepared to float to all acute care units within the facility, which may include Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and Emergency Room departments.

Dress Code

Scrubs are the required attire for this position.
