- Assistant Director of Family and Community ServicesMain Office - Chelmsford, MA 01824## OverviewSalary Range$78,000.00 - $78,000.00 Salary## Description**Essential Job Functions*** Effectively recruit, hire, train, assign, direct, counsel, discipline and evaluate performance of the Family Support Staff.* Responsible for reviewing contracts and understanding the fundamental finances for each program within Family Support. Participates in contract development to ensure program implementation is in line with contract requirements.* Responsible for managing the budgets for Family Support Services, and reviewing monthly contract billing to ensure programs are operating within budget.* Responsible for the management and oversight of data collection. Provide quarterly update with the Director, Family and Community Services, to each area office for each individual receiving services through Family Support.* Provide technical assistance to area and regional offices in regards to all Family Support Services.* Assist families in identifying resources and service options available in local communities, and/or available financial and/or state services (Mass Health, etc.)* Provide general information and referral services to families of children and adults who contact the Family Support Center.* Foster community affiliations and connections to explore resources and other potential funding sources* Attend and participate in local, regional and statewide Family Support meetings* Develop community outreach opportunities to increase awareness of Lifelinks’ programming and foster growth of the Family Support Department* Act in a manner consistent with organizational values, mission and goals. Familiarizes self with and abides by personnel policies* Serve as Mandated Reporter as required by the Disabled Persons Protection Commission and the Department of Children and Families.* Position requires some on-call, evening or weekend work.* Position requires some local travel.* Other duties may be assigned as needed.**Supervisory Responsibilities**Family Support SpecialistsSenior Family Support SpecialistsMedically Complex Family Support Specialist## Qualifications**Qualifications**To perform this job successfully the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.**Education and Experience*** Bachelor’s degree in related discipline strongly preferred* 3-5 years experience working with developmentally disabled individuals and the families of developmentally disabled individuals* Minimum of 2 years directly related supervisory experience* Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.* Superior oral and written communication skills.**Computer Skills**Incumbent must be computer literate and have demonstrated proficiency in the use of email and the Internet. Must have advanced skills in EXCEL, WORD, and Power Point**Analytical Skills**Must have demonstrated ability to problem-solve, handle emergencies, meet deadlines and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously**Language Skills**Mastery of the English language required as demonstrated by the ability to read and write instructions; ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents, field journals, financial reports, technical procedures, policy/procedure manuals and government regulations. Ability to comprehend and follow verbal/written instructions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from Individuals, families, regulatory agencies or the general public. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures and effectively present information to senior management.
