Registered Nurse RN Cath Holding

Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Cath Holding area in San Antonio. In this role, you will provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients before and after cardiac catheterization and related interventional procedures. As a key member of the Healthcare & Medical Services team, you will perform comprehensive assessments, monitor patients’ hemodynamic status, manage IV infusions and cardiac drips as appropriate, administer medications safely, and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition. You will prepare patients for procedures by verifying histories, medications, labs, and consents, providing education on what to expect, and ensuring all pre-procedure protocols are followed. Post-procedure, you will closely monitor vital signs, vascular access sites, rhythm, and pain levels, recognizing and escalating any signs of complications. Working in a supportive and inclusive environment that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and dedication to patient care, you will collaborate closely with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, cath lab staff, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, efficient patient throughput. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, adhering to infection prevention and safety standards, and participating in quality improvement initiatives tailored to cardiovascular services. You will also play an active role in patient and family education related to cardiac procedures, medications, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience.
