Reference: PR/601936_1784721019Director, Procurement - Non-FoodHybrid: Monday-Wednesday In Office | Thursday-Friday RemotePosition OverviewOur client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Procurement - Non-Food to lead sourcing, category management, supplier strategy, and team development across a broad portfolio of indirect and operational spend categories. This leadership role is responsible for developing procurement strategies that support a multi-site restaurant/foodservice operation while driving cost savings, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.The Director will oversee a team of procurement professionals and manage key categories including FF&E, CAPEX, Smallwares, Equipment, Chemicals, and Packaging. This individual will partner closely with Operations, Construction, Facilities, Finance, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to support new restaurant openings, remodels, capital projects, and day-to-day restaurant operations.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop a team of category managers, sourcing managers, buyers, and analysts.Establish category strategies aligned with business objectives and growth initiatives.Drive strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations that deliver measurable cost savings and operational value.Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.Category ManagementOwn strategic sourcing and supplier management across:FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment)CAPEX and Construction-Related SpendKitchen EquipmentSmallwaresChemicals & Sanitation ProgramsPackaging & DisposablesResponsibilities include:Strategic sourcing and RFx managementContract negotiationsSupplier performance managementMarket intelligence and benchmarkingRisk mitigation and continuity planningCost reduction and value engineering initiativesRestaurant Operations SupportPartner with Operations and Facilities teams to ensure restaurant locations receive high-quality products and services at optimal cost.Support new unit openings, remodels, relocations, and capital improvement projects.Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to standardize products, specifications, and suppliers across the network.Ensure suppliers consistently meet quality, delivery, and service expectations.Supplier & Stakeholder ManagementDevelop and manage relationships with strategic suppliers and service providers.Lead complex negotiations involving pricing, rebates, service agreements, and long-term contracts.Build supplier scorecards and performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.Work closely with executive leadership to communicate category performance, risks, and opportunities.Financial ManagementDeliver annual savings and cost avoidance targets.Support budget development and capital planning processes.Analyze spend data and procurement KPIs to identify opportunities and improve decision-making.Drive total cost of ownership strategies across all managed categories.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or related field.7+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management experience.3+ years of leadership experience managing procurement or sourcing teams.Restaurant, foodservice, hospitality, or multi-unit dining industry experience is required.Demonstrated experience managing multiple non-food categories including FF&E, equipment, packaging, chemicals, smallwares, and capital expenditures.Experience supporting restaurant operations, new store openings, remodels, or large-scale multi-site environments.Proven success leading supplier negotiations and delivering significant cost savings initiatives.Strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities.Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Preferred QualificationsMBA or advanced degree.CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, or similar procurement certification.Experience with Coupa, Ariba, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP/procurement platforms.Experience managing procurement for a national or regional restaurant brand with multiple locations.
