About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Arterial line management - BiPAP/CPAP management - Care of ventilated patients - Central line care and management - Continuous IV sedation - Interpretation of arterial blood gases - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Isolation precautions and PPE - Management of dysrhythmias - Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure - Suctioning (ETT, NT) - Titration of cardiac drips - Titration of vasoactive drips - Ventilator management Description: The role involves providing critical care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Shifts are 3x12 hours, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend work is required every other weekend, totaling 2 weekends per month. No block scheduling is available for time off. Requests for time off should not exceed 5 days, with no more than 2 consecutive days off. No time off is allowed on holidays or the day prior or after holidays. Floating between units is a standard practice; all resources are required to float as needed. ICU RNs may float between various ICU units, including Burn, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU. RNs may also be floated to medical-surgical units if necessary. The first week will consist of daytime orientation and precepting shifts. This position requires strong clinical skills and adaptability to meet patient needs. Candidates should be prepared for a challenging and dynamic work environment.
