Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Analyst with expertise in SQL Server and PostgreSQL to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance monitoring, query optimization, and backup and recovery operations in enterprise environments. This role requires a deep understanding of database internals, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions. The candidate will work in a hybrid schedule, alternating between one week in-office and one week remote, and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide operational support for SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases across Azure, Linux, and Windows environments.
• Monitor database health and performance, identifying and resolving performance issues at the database and query levels.
• Perform query analysis and tuning to ensure application performance and stability.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery solutions for both SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Execute database restores for production support, testing, and disaster recovery scenarios.
• Support and maintain high availability and disaster recovery configurations for minimal downtime.
• Utilize monitoring tools to track performance trends and respond to alerts.
• Perform database patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with application teams and business units to troubleshoot complex database-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, documentation, and attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server and PostgreSQL DBA in enterprise environments.
• Expertise in database performance monitoring, query optimization, and backup and recovery operations.
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL internals, including memory management, indexing, and transaction logging.
• Experience with SQL Server 2012+ and PostgreSQL 11+ on Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as SQL Server Availability Groups and PostgreSQL replication.
• Ability to write and optimize T-SQL and PL/pgSQL queries for troubleshooting and performance analysis.
• Scripting experience in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automating DBA tasks.
• Experience with databases hosted on Azure, AWS RDS, and on-prem environments.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency; preference for candidates with experience in regulated industries.

Pay Range: $50 - $53/hr. W2

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
