Real Property Manager

Real Property Manager (Grade 20 – 4907) The State Highway Administration’s Office of Real Estate (Prince George’s County) is recruiting for a Real Property Manager. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification. Nature of Work The main purpose of this position is to manage a district office or an acquisition right‑of‑way office in Headquarters and assist the District Engineer and the Director of the Office of Real Estate (ORE). Responsibilities include organizing and scheduling people and resources to acquire SHA right‑of‑way on multiple projects on time and within budget. The position coordinates real estate activities with Project Planning, Highway Design, Plats and Surveys, Finance, Counsel, Headquarters ORE personnel, other divisions, and consultants. It also requires frequent communication with the general public and elected officials. Minimum Qualifications Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Eight (8) years of experience providing real estate services. Of those, at least two (2) years must have involved supervising other employees or consultant staff functioning as Real Property Specialists or managing real estate projects or reviewing appraisals. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent written and oral communication Notes 1. Additional experience in professional or technical real estate work may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for the required bachelor’s degree for up to four years. 2. U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the minimum qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year‑for‑year basis. Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the state of Maryland. Additional Information The selected candidate may be subject to background and reference checks.
