The Assistant Kitchen Manager supports daily operations in a full-service restaurant, with a primary focus on shift supervision, inventory and ordering, staff training, and food preparation and production. This role helps maintain efficient kitchen performance while upholding food quality, safety, and cost-control standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise kitchen operations and staff during assigned shifts.
- Prepare food and coordinate production according to menu standards.
- Create and manage staff schedules to support operational needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering.
- Coordinate orders to promote timely and accurate service.
- Maintain quality assurance and food safety standards.
- Support cost-control initiatives and efficient use of ingredients.
- Assist with staff training and kitchen maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food safety management experience or knowledge.
- Inventory management and ordering experience.
- Experience with menu execution and culinary techniques.
- Staff scheduling experience.
- Understanding of cost-control practices.
- Team leadership and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong time-management skills.
