Specialty Representative, Rheumatology - Fairfax, VA

Field-based specialty sales role focused on rheumatology in the Fairfax, VA territory. The representative will execute brand strategy, manage customer relationships, and drive sales performance while maintaining compliance with healthcare industry requirements.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets to meet or exceed objectives in assigned territory
- Develop and execute call plans with SMART objectives, post-call evaluations, and effective objection handling
- Build and maintain trusted customer relationships by proactively identifying and addressing customer needs and expectations
- Develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with healthcare providers
- Continuously gather market intelligence on competitors, disease landscape, and customer dynamics to inform strategy optimization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business; or five years industry experience with three in pharmaceutical/healthcare
- Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales with strong presentation and objection-handling skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to influence peers and build collaborative partnerships
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge in specialty pharmaceuticals
- Valid driver's license, ability to pass drug screening, and meet safe driving requirements
- Must satisfy all applicable healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements
- Proficient business acumen with strategic thinking and ability to operate in matrix environments
