A Pension Program, Life Insurance, AD&D and opportunities for growth and development.The primary duties of this position will be to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of ready-mix trucks, powder trucks, bottom dump trucks, and trailers to include overhauls, diagnostic work, electronics, brake jobs, and DOT Inspections. This position will work with the Plant Foreman to coordinate and ensure that all aspects of the trucking fleet are met. The ideal candidate will possess a substantial background in hydraulics and electrical jobs to coincide with repairs to the equipment described above. Preferred candidates will be capable of upward advancement as our company grows. Some travel time might be required. This position will require the ideal candidate to own his/her tools and must be able to operate diagnostic equipment with skill. A Commercial Class A or Class B driver's license is preferred but not required.Essential Functions of a Shop Mechanic:Prepare necessary records of work orders performedDiagnose and repair problemsDiagnose and repair HVAC systemsA strong background in welding and fabricationStrong knowledge of electronic diagnostics and hydraulics are requiredComputer skills - working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferredMust be self-motivated and able to work without supervisionMinimum of five years in a mechanical environmentMust have excellent communication skills, both written and verbalMust possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills and communication skillsStrong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work, and a strong commitment to corporate goalsMust be capable of functioning in a fast-paced and demanding working environmentQualifications of a Shop Mechanic:High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): or Work EquivalentExperience in a mechanical role preferred.Valid California Driver's LicenseWelding and fabrication experience to include stick welding and cutting torch skillsMust be mechanically inclinedAFFIRMATIVE ACTION STATEMENT: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
